Ruby Tuesday - A Floral Bouquet - May 24, 2011

A dear retired forensic nurse friend from Hilo, Hawaii spent the day with me
today.  Merle Endo and I got an early start at 7:30AM, had breakfast in San
Francisco and did some sightseeing, lots of photographs and ended up with a
late lunch ( a delicious Dungeness crab sandwich at Nick's in Pacifica, CA ).
I got photos for lots of the memes in which I participate which is nice.

My Ruby Tuesday picture for this week is here!

I am participating in Ruby Tuesday!
Check out the site and join in the fun!

  8. Whatever those red flowers are, they are beauties!

    A SPLASH OF RED

A splash of red or a dash of blue—
Which is the color that’s just for you?

A hint of blue or a tint of red—
Which of these colors goes to your head?

Of all the colors under the sun,
Red is simply my favorite one!

Nice to see you here, Melissa! This is a fun meme so I hope you'll participate every week!

I must have taken twenty photos at this house on Monday - it's a huge place, with the entire area, fronting on the street, filled with flower beds, masses of roses and other flowers.

It was a wonderful day - on top of seeing my other dear friend last week. Too bad I haven't a clue, though, what those red flowers are.

    Kim, USA -
I don't have any flowers in my yard, maybe that's why I so enjoy everyone else's flowers. I know the people in that house must have thought Merle and I were crazy! We must have spent fifteen minutes photographing their front yard!

    Gattina -
I took that header photo last year. I just love those amazing Matilija poppies. They grow up to 8 feet tall, and are prevalent from northern Mexico to California. Their white petals are like crinkly crepe paper and just flutter in the breeze.

Glad you liked those lovely blossom. That whole garden smelled wonderful. I took dozens of pictures there.

    Maggie May -
I was at that same place about three weeks and the roses were just beginning to bloom. Now, the entire fence in front of that huge residence is a mass of blooms, roses and other flowers and it smells so delicious! What a show place!!

    Welshcakes Limoncello -
I don't know who cares for all the magnificent flowers at that large residence ( really, it's more like a mansion ) but they certainly do a terrific job. Everything is so beautiful.

I just wish all those gorgeous flowers were mine! There are hundreds of roses! I'd have every room of my house full of them and there would still be more than enough to fill the front fence!

I wish I knew the name of those beautiful flowers but, both times I've been in front of that house taking photos, I haven't seen a soul out to ask questions. I'd like to know the name of their lovely roses, too.

    Ann -
I don't know what those flowers are! I really haven't seen others like them, either.
